I have nothing but great things to say about Mrs. Pavlak! My son has struggled with reading his whole life. By the time he entered high school I knew I needed someone to help him.
At the time my son was in 9th grade and reading about the 4th grade level, even though he was able to read the words at the high school level, he wasn’t understanding what he was reading. I shared my concerns with Mrs. Pavlak and she came up with a plan for us.

At first my son didn’t feel like he needed reading help, but after a few weeks of sessions, he was asking “when do I get to see Miss Anne again?!” He actually enjoyed reading for the first time. He wanted me to buy books she would tell him about. He wanted to make sure he got his “homework” done she gave him, and his teachers even asked what we were doing differently at home.

Mrs. Pavlak would give me updates, share wins, and show me the progress she was seeing. By the time we had our next IEP meeting, my son had met his reading and vocabulary goals that he hadn’t been able to meet in the past. He is now graduating in June and continues to make growth. We learned strategies to use even on the days he wasn’t seeing Mrs. Pavlak!

I would absolutely recommend these reading sessions, I wish I would have found her sooner!   

 Our experience working with Mrs. Pavlak to improve my 4th grade son's reading and spelling skills has been marvelous! I had some concerns about his reading and spelling because he was so far delayed in those areas compared to the rest of his academics, and it didn't make sense given his strong interest in being read to or listening to audiobooks.  Mrs. Pavlak was able to pinpoint the lacking skills, explain the neural developmental context, and target the things we need to do to see improvement.  And we have seen a lot of improvement! More importantly, however, my son's confidence is back and he really enjoys his tutoring time.
